Strategic fundraiser (f/m/x) for the mobilisation of resources for a large non-governmental organisation in favour of women in Armenia

Background and Partner Organisation

Despite economic challenges and the exodus of young people to the cities, our partner organisation is pursuing the vision of sustainably improving the quality of life and livelihoods in the southern Armenian provinces of Vayots Dzor, Syunik and Gegharkunik. It specifically targets refugees, young people, women and young adults in the rural region across all generations, offering them new prospects for the future away from labour migration through a wide range of projects. The activities are extremely diverse and include

- Strengthening self-administration
- Social and cultural education initiatives

- Volunteer exchange programmes

- Local and international networking of the provinces

The above-mentioned partner organisation Syunik-Development Communal non-governmental organisation is one of the most highly motivated and largest development non-governmental organisations in Armenia. It has a well-established network and a very good reputation, making it easy for international development policy experts to strengthen strategic resource mobilisation.

The office is located in Yeghegnadzor, in the south-eastern province of Vayots Dzor, where the partner organisation Syunik Development is based.

Job Scope

You will make a valuable contribution to ensuring that SYUNIK achieves its funding goals, for example by supporting colleagues in the development and implementation of an effective fundraising strategy.

In particular, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Designing a fundraising strategy for sustainable funding sources
  • Advice on identifying and approaching potential donor organisations
  • Conception and implementation of training courses in third-party funding
  • Providing technical advice on project application, monitoring, evaluation and reporting
  • Participation in knowledge management to effectively capture and share findings
  • Establishing and maintaining partnerships to increase the visibility of the organisation
  • Participation in public relations work (online and print)

Profile

  • A relevant degree (at least a Bachelor's degree)
  • Work experience in development project management
  • Good written and spoken English skills
  • Strong analytical and systemic thinking skills
  • Enjoy promoting colleagues and building collaborations
  • Openness and motivation for social integration into the culture of Armenia 

Please note that citizenship of a member state of the European Union or Switzerland is a formal requirement. In accordance with the requirements of the reintegration programme, applications from Kyrgyz professionals from Germany may be considered.
