Neuanfänge

Am Wochenende des 29.-31. Oktober. 2021 traf sich erstmalig der neue Jugendausschuss der Brot für die Welt Jugend in Hannover und arbeitete mit Hilfe von Vertretern des alten Ausschusses fleißig an der Planung des kommenden Jahres.

Erstmalig stellen wir (der JA) euch nicht ein, sondern gleich zwei Themen vor, auf die wir uns nun besonders fokussieren wollen. “Religionsfreiheit” ist etwas, das leider nicht jeder genießt. Sowohl in Deutschland als auch weltweit, erfahren Menschen aufgrund ihres Glaubens immer wieder Diskriminierung. Wir möchten uns für ein respektvolles religiöses Miteinander einsetzen. Des Weiteren liegt uns die Betrachtung von postkolonialen Strukturen am Herzen. Viele brandaktuelle Probleme führen auf alte Systeme zurück. “Postkolonialismus” ist kein Thema von gestern und dennoch sehen wir hier viel Aufklärungsbedarf.

Der Ausschuss ist nun diverser denn je. Neben großzügiger Motivation, möchten wir somit auch viele neue Ideen in das kommende Jahr einbringen. Wir nehmen uns vor, digitale Formate auch weiterhin zu pflegen, unsere internationalen Beziehungen auszubauen und neue Ortsgruppen zu bilden. Außerdem dürft ihr euch auch auf einen spannenden neuen Podcast (BROTcast) freuen. Youthtopia 2022 soll nach aktuellem Stand auch wieder eine Präsenzveranstaltung werden. Damit dies auch klappt, seid allerdings auch ihr gefragt. Wir laden jeden von euch herzlich ein, sich in den neuen Arbeitsgruppen einzubringen und gemeinsam mit uns aktiv zu werden.

New Beginnings

On the weekend of 29.-31. October. 2021 the new Youth Council of Bread for the World Youth met for the first time in Hannover. With the guidance of the former chairpersons, the new council came up with a plan for the upcoming year.

For the first time, we (the youth council) decided to focus on not one, but two topics for this year. “Religious freedom” is a right that is often violated. In Germany and worldwide, people face discrimination because of their religious beliefs. We want to advocate for more respectful religious interrelations. In addition to that, we want to highlight postcolonial structures in our current society. A lot of today’s problems have a common root. “Postcolonialism” is not a topic of yesterday. There is a lot more educational work that needs to be done.

We are happy to say that the Youth council is more diverse than ever. Each member is contributing their own personal ideas and resources to make the most out of the following months. We hope to further improve digital formats, strengthen our international relationships and create more local groups for you to engage in. You may also look forward to a brand new Podcast (BROTcast). We are also currently planning for Youthtopia 2022 to be an offline event. Obviously, the Youth Council would not operate without your continued support, therefore we kindly invite you to join some of our working groups and stay active together. We are looking forward to working with you next year!
